So, as of late my University and all of their crap policies is going to just that- crap. And its beginning to make the prospect of taking a semester off and modeling myself after Emile Hirsch’s character in Into The Wild that much more appealing. So, if anyone is near or around the Nevada area anytime soon, I suggest that you try out the life of The Burning Man. Its like taking an abstract art gallery and Woodstock and making it into one big party. It’s amazing, the people are great, the food is great (And you know me and food) the atmosphere is just incredible. I personally suggest it. THE ART OF BURNING MAN
Burning Man is much more than just a temporary community. It’s a city in the desert, dedicated to radical self reliance, radical self-expression and art. Innovative sculpture, installations, performance, theme camps, art cars and costumes all flower from the playa and spread to our communities and back again. In this section you will learn what you need to know about creating art for the playa, find out all about this year’s art installations, read essays about Burning Man and art from both staff and participants, and revisit some past off-playa art events and exhibitions.
Our mission is to promote and support interactive public art, even beyond our event. TheBlack Rock Arts Foundation has been established for that purpose, and focuses on community art at our regional events.

The story is told of how the first settlers of our city arrived in the Black Rock Desert. Drawing a line in the ground at the edge of the playa, they were told that once they crossed this line, “Everything will be different.” Read this year’s theme.2010 Art of Black Rock City
